stones arranged in rows
big ones to little sand
round the trees steep
the big lake more solid
than rock thought of itself

Thursday, June 8

idaho

the wind blows a dusty mess
up the road to settle on the deck
the frequent hops of old robin
bob the neighbor drinks beer
and grows a hedge of no particular shape
bob the dog died last week
the stairs on this block are white
the railings on this block are black
the ceilings are wooden and the floors
stucco with accents of spaghetti sauce

Monday, June 5

marsh road

a choice green
stems clean
trails in black
mud clearly
simply water
humid bullrushes
willows stalking
redwingblackbirds
redwingblackbirds

of wings cutting out
from the bluffs all alonge
the lake waves on
claiming a perpetuity
in the reflections
of the birds that
hang up here
